Grow Therapy is on a mission to serve as the trusted partner for therapists growing their practice, and patients accessing high-quality care. Powered by technology, we are a three-sided marketplace that empowers providers, augments insurance payors, and serves patients. Following the mass increase in depression and anxiety, the need for accessibility is more important than ever. To make our vision for mental healthcare a reality, we’re building a team of entrepreneurs and mission-driven go-getters. Since launching in February 2021, we’ve empowered more than ten thousand therapists and hundreds of thousands of clients across the country and insurance landscape. We’ve raised more than $328Mm in funding, including our Series D, at a $3B valuation from Sequoia Capital, Transformation Capital, TCV, SignalFire, Menlo Ventures, Goldman Sachs Alternatives, and others.
The Opportunity:
The Telehealth Experience team owns the moment of care: every live therapy session that happens on Grow's platform. From the video infrastructure to the waiting room, the intersession summaries, and the real-time orchestration of session lifecycle, this team is responsible for making sure every session is reliable, clinical-grade, and easy for both providers and patients. We're investing in the next chapter of our session experience: deeper reliability at scale, smarter clinical workflows, and new ways to support providers during their sessions. We're looking for a senior engineering manager to lead this team through that next chapter, owning both the day-to-day execution and the longer-arc roadmap for telehealth at Grow.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Lead and grow a small, high-trust engineering team that owns the live session experience: video infrastructure, session lifecycle, and the provider-facing tools that wrap around it.
Set the technical roadmap for telehealth at Grow. Balance the steady work of session reliability with the bigger bets we want to place on the clinical experience inside a session.
Coach senior ICs through the team's most consequential problems. Partner closely with the team's Staff Engineer on deep architecture decisions and grow the next layer of senior engineers behind them.
Own the operational rhythm: on-call health, incident response, SLOs, and reliability KPIs. Make session reliability visible across the pillar, not just inside the team.
Partner with Product, Design, Data Science, and platform teams to ship clinical telehealth features end-to-end. Be the engineering voice in cross-functional planning.
You’ll Be a Good Fit If:
You've led engineering teams for 4+ years (and built software for 8+), with a track record of growing senior+ ICs and the engineering managers behind you.
You've owned real-time, reliability-critical systems before: video, voice, session state, collaborative editing, or similar. You know what "every second matters" code looks like, and you've shipped against tight reliability targets.
You've led a team through a meaningful technical transition or platform migration. You know how to drive a complex change without losing pace on the day-to-day, and how to bring engineers along through it.
You stay technically deep enough to be useful in design reviews, on-call escalations, and architecture decisions. You don't dictate the technical direction, but you recognize when one is off the rails.
Bonus, not required: experience in healthcare or another regulated environment; familiarity with video / streaming SDKs (Twilio, Zoom, WebRTC) or async orchestration; comfort with our stack (Python + Flask + GraphQL on the back end, TypeScript + React on the front).
Full Time Employee Benefits:
Comprehensive Health Coverage: Medical, dental, and vision insurance, plus life and disability coverage.
Parental Leave & Family Support: Up to 18 weeks paid leave and a new child stipend.
Financial Wellness: 401(k) program and equity opportunities.
Meals & Home Office Support: Stipends for home office setup and ongoing funds for meals, with tailored perks for both remote and in-office employees.
Time Off to Recharge: Flexible PTO, 12 paid holidays, and a full winter break week.
Wellness & Development: Annual stipends to put towards personal & professional growth.
Mental & Physical Health Support: No-cost access to therapy through the Grow platform, weekly flexible hours for self-care (“Mental Health Mornings/Afternoons”) and memberships to leading wellness apps (such as One Medical, Headspace, and Talkspace).
Extra Perks: Pet insurance discounts, commuter benefits, and global travel assistance.
