Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
The Associate Counsel will be responsible for editing and drafting various agreements with varying complexity levels. The Associate Counsel will need to collaborate with most areas of the organization. The Associate Counsel will need to provide guidance, support, and education to internal resources. The Associate Counsel will also advise the organization on a wide range of company and business law requirements. The position can be predominantly remote, and will report directly to a senior attorney in the legal department.
Necessary Qualities:
The ideal candidate will have experience with as many of the following as possible:
- NDA’s; MSA’s; SOW’s; BAA’s; Employment Law matters; Provider Billing Litigation/Claims; Legal/Regulatory/Compliance experience and other matters in a highly regulated health care/insurance industry.
- Must be extremely organized and detail oriented, with high adaptability to a fast-paced possibly evolving environment.
- Must be able to balance the appropriate amount of risk and help business partners grow the organization.
- Must unequivocally be a team player and understand it is about the organization succeeding, not individual success.
- Must be a great problem solver who can build and manage relationships with external parties without much assistance where appropriate.
- Someone who is intellectually curious and enjoys learning, would be a great add.
- Must be extremely organized and detail oriented, with high adaptability to a fast-paced possibly evolving environment (yes, this was intentionally listed twice).

Licensure:
- Admitted and in good standing with a state bar and eligible for authorized in-house counsel designation if necessary.
Education/Training:
- Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited and well-respected law school.
- Preferably a U.S. News Top 50 law school.
Knowledge and Experience Requirements
- Must have 6-8 years (minimum) as a practicing attorney with a focus on contracts, employment law, provider dispute
- Medicare Advantage experience a plus
- Must have experience in a highly regulated industry (Insurance a plus)
- Healthcare (Provider or Plan side) experience a plus
- Must have effective communication skills- written and verbal
- Must have the ability to develop effective business relationships
- Must have effective computer skills-MS Office, document management, version control
